Aoléon,

discover the truth about the Luminon and his plans to invade Earth. However Pax
is not who he seems to be, and through a turn of events, they uncover the true
power behind all that has been happening on Mars.

BOOK REVIEW:
This
is the last part of the five part series in the Aoleon Martian Girl series. In
the stories already, Aoleon, Gilbert, Bizwat, Zoot and Helios come together and
land in their final destination in their war against the Luminon. Cydonia is
where all the action is. Hundreds of prisoners are held captive and a secret
underground base is raided.
It
is a combination of presence of mind, luck, and extreme sense of timing that
makes the team succeed in almost all of their goals. The major suspense is
halfway into the book, where the reality of the primary foe is revealed. This
book seems more and more like a fair warning against the influx of artificial
intelligence.
The
scenes back in ‘Terra’ with the president and his tactic team seem,
unintentionally, humorous. There is no real conviction in most of the methods
used. The book ends with ‘finally a bunch of kids saved the day’ theme, a feel
good ending, but makes the reader do the smallest of double takes and raise an
eyebrow sceptically.
The
language is, as usual, good. The glossary is really helpful to keep track, even
by book 5, and the plot is understandable only to those who have been following
the other books so far. The story is enjoyable and of course, you let out a
sigh of contentment once it is over. The series had grown on me and this is a
very fitting final book.
SPECIAL MENTION:
As
always, the graphics in this book are an added bonus. They help in visualising
the scenes better and are vital in the flow of the story. So much so that I have
started wishing other books had occasional images too.

enjoys crafting good stories based on lovable characters designed to translate
well to multiple media formats such as books, games, movies, and toys. He is an
associate member of the Children's Book Council. He lives in New York when he
is not commuting between Southern California and Olympus Mons, Mars. His
hobbies include writing, 3D animation, musical composition, and intergalactic
space travel. He also enjoys various sports such as skiing, running, and
exospheric skydiving.
